I am continually inspired by the beautiful singing of the birds in the woods where I live. I listen daily to their calls: lilting, intense, resonant, and confident. Their ability to so clearly and beautifully express their desires through song captivates me.
As oboists, we can get caught up with the daily inconsistency and struggle of our instruments and their accompanying equipment. At Birdsong Reeds, I aim to provide you with the tools to sing through your instrument with the same effortless confidence and beauty as the birds.
Oboe reeds, like birds and people, each have a unique voice. Every piece of cane is different, creating the variety and beauty of sound we can achieve as oboists.
