Q: How do you make your reeds?
A: Check out my process page here!

Q: Which strength reed should I get?
A: Regular reeds are hardier, less cane has been taken out of them so that you can adjust them as you break it in to suit your needs. This is a good option for you if you are a pro or a student with some reed making experience. Light reeds are more free-blowing, more cane has been taken out of them so they are lighter and easier to blow. This is a good option for you if you are a student, especially if you have begun your oboe journey in the last couple years.

Q: What type of staple should I get?
A: Synthetic staples are made with brass and synthetic cork. These are a good option if you are a student musician. Pisoni staples are made with silver and real cork. These are a good option if you are a more advanced student or professional. I use Pisoni Deluxe staples.

Q: How long will it take to receive my reeds?
A: Lead time for cane is one week and for reeds is two weeks. However, I am often able to ship out sooner. Shipping usually takes a couple additional days. If you need reeds ASAP send me a message and we can work something out.

Q: Do you do custom orders?
A: Yes, send me a message to discuss how I can help!

Q: I have another question?
A: Send me a message via the Contact tab or at birdsong.reeds@gmail.com
